Princess Cruises to take over Australasia in 2019/2020

Princess Cruises has today announced that the 2019/2020 Australian cruise season will be the largest in its history. A total of five ships will travel to over 100 destinations and carry 200,000 guests.

Sailings will depart from Sydney, Perth (Fremantle), Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland. They include voyages around Australia, New Zealand and beyond including Singapore, Hong Kong, Fiji, and Bali.

Returning and carrying 3,560 guests is the beautiful Majestic Princess, the cruise lines newest ship. Ruby Princess carrying 3,100 guests will make her maiden voyage in these waters too. Both will sail from Sydney, which will allow guests to have a chance to stay in Sydney pre or post cruise and take in the cities delights. Perhaps a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to visit the Sydney Opera House, if brave enough climb the Harbour Bridge, and not forgetting a trip out to the scenic Blue Mountains.

From Adelaide, you can sail on the Golden and Sun Princess. between them carrying 4,600 guests. perfect for guests who like the smaller ships.

In Brisbane, the 2,000-guest Sea Princess will return to complete itineraries spanning two to 35 days, calling at destinations across New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, the Coral Sea, South Pacific and Hawaii. Highlights include a new 10-day voyage to Tasmania, with calls to Burnie, Port Arthur, Hobart, and Sydney.  I can’t think of a better way to visit these wonderful destinations, than on board a luxury cruise ship. Disembarking in the day to venture away to fascinating towns and cities to return to the comfort of the ship to set off again to another destination.

Golden Princess returns to Melbourne, sailing to destinations in New Zealand, South Australia and the South Pacific. Highlights include a new 14-day Queensland cruise with calls to Airlie Beach, Yorkey’s Knob, Port Douglas, Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney and a new seven-day ‘Southern Australia Explorer’ with late night calls in Adelaide.  Airlie Beach will allow you the opportunity to visit the world famous Great Barrier Reef. I was lucky enough to do this back in 2000 and took a helicopter over the reef and from the sky it is breathtaking. I also took a boat trip where we had the chance to snorkel where I saw fish of all shapes and sizes and colours. it is a memory I will never forget.
