RYANAIR – What are you doing????

Thank you for stopping by and reading my latest blog….This week I am going to talk about RYANAIR.

As most of you have probably heard in the news Ryanair has been cancelling thousands of flights, which is causing no end of problems for traveller’s.  Ryanair has said they have had to do this to clear a back log of staff’s annual leave. This was first announced on 15th September.

A statement on their website said: ‘Up to 50 flights per day (less than 2% of flights) have been cancelled for the next six weeks. Your flight is operating as usual unless you receive an email. The cancellations could affect up to 285,000 passengers’.

Since then they have now announced that they are cancelling another 18,000 flights, over 34 routes between November and March. Ryanair have said they have contacted all customers that are affected by this and are offering a full refund or an alternative flight. I am not sure I would be happy with an alternative flight with them, as what happens if they decide to cancel that one.

This has caused many problems for traveller’s, getting to their destinations and equally coming home, customers having to pay out more, because the company could not organize their staff’s annual leave properly, surely a company of their size would have a strict annual leave policy, like many other large businesses. I have used this airline a few times, but I am reluctant to use them due to this issue that they have created.

Hopefully now that the Civil Aviation Authority has been involved Ryanair will have to comply and make sure they are doing right by their passengers.

Ryanair have estimated that the total cost of it’s cancellations would be less then £44m, this is huge.

So how do you feel about Ryanair, have they damaged their reputation? Would you fly with them? I would really like to know your thoughts and opinions..
