Virgin Voyages Debut Ship to be Named…..

There has been lots of buzz in the cruise industry recently about Cruise lines introducing new ships and the cruising industry is expanding rapidly with existing cruise lines and also new ones

The announcement of the introduction Virgin voyages came earlier this year, and this week the steel cutting took place for the second ship of the three virgin Voyage ships on order – Some of the worlds leading designers have been brought on board to create the modern romance of sailing

Richard Branson himself revealed the new name for the first ship would be Scarlet Lady – Inspired by the name of one of the first aircraft to fly in the Virgin Atlantic fleet.

Promising to represent women of power – the cruise line will encourage front facing female leaders throughout the company and

Scarlet Lady will arrive in 2020 and her sister ships are set for delivery in 2021 and a third in 2022. Each of the ships will have a passenger capacity of over 2700 and 1150 crew members on board

Bye Bye plastic – Richard Branson also announced that they would be using reusable/recyclable materials on board the ship – this will mean no more straws or take away coffee cups

What we know so far about Scarlet Lady

  • Adults Only ship
  • 86% Of cabins on board will be Balcony cabins
  • The Athletic Club – Featuring the largest day bed at sea
  • A Catamaran style 220 Square foot Netting
  • The Manor Nightclub
  • Each of the ships will boast the Mermaid Guide lcon inspired by that of the logo for Virgin America
  • Each of the guests on board will be known as sailors, not Passengers

Throughout the year Virgin will be releasing #Shipteases focusing on individual aspects of the ship such as Cabins & Facilities
