Always A Happy Ending for Disney…

Always A Happy Ending for Disney

This week I was both shocked but pleased to hear about Disney Cruise Lines Stressful rescue of a man who fell overboard at Sea.

The emergency siren was raised early evening on Thursday 4th May, investigations and eye witness reports have said there was a coast guard helicopter circling and the Disney Dream Pilot has been praised for his steadfast ship leading protocol on overboard ship rescue strategy. Guidelines appear to have been followed precisely as set out in the Maritime highway code. Remember it was only two years ago the Disney ship as if by Magic rescued a man that went overboard on The Oasis of the seas.

In the event of an emergency Disney are well known for their state of the art man overboard alert system which instantaneously altars the captains bridge. From there the captain can bring the ship back to search for survivors.

Its very fortunate that the waters around Castaway Cay Disney’s very own private island just due west of Grand Bahama have warm waters this time of year. In fact the bigger problem may have been sharks, or perhaps that is just in my head.

Disney movies are full of adventure and this gentlemen sure had an eventful afternoon.

I think is always incredible when I hear stories like this but I personally wonder how you could fall off of a cruise ship. I have been on many cruises and barriers and glass, metal railings are different at certain parts of the ship but you have to use Disney like imagination to understand how someone could fall overboard in the first place.

What are your thoughts on this encounter?

Have you been on board a cruise ship with a near miss or have you witnessed a scary moment at sea?
