Complete ends of the ‘Spectrum’

Royal Caribbean announced this week some details of the features its brand new Ultra Quantum Class ship Spectrum of the Seas will boast.

Suites in a private area of the ship will spread across three decks. A first for Royal Caribbean.

The suites-only area will debut on the line’s first Quantum Ultra ship Spectrum of the Seas dedicated to sailing from China next year.

Passengers who book into the luxury suites which will be located at the front of the ship,  will have special key card access, a private lift and a dedicated restaurant and lounge.

You will also have access to a private outdoor space for sunbathing and relaxing  and a shopping area where private shopping experiences can be booked.

A two-level,  Ultimate Family Suite stretching over 2500 sqft will be able to accommodate up to 11 passengers with three-bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a bathroom extending over the side of the ship, and a slide for children.

It doesn’t come a great surprise that Cruise Line designers are really listening to the guests demands. Not many families these days only comprise of 2 adults and 2 children. It is about time that they can accommodate larger families to fit on their enormous ships.

Royal Caribbean are generally so far ahead of their competitors in facilities and activities onboard but not so far ahead when it comes to Cabin choices. Especially in the family area.

They have been heading in the right direction over the last few years and when I was onboard Ovation of the seas a couple of years ago, we did get blown away with the duplex suites on offer. They do also offer interconnecting options now enabling you the possibility of booking a variety of different cabin grades.

Here are some pictures of these large Suites on Ovation of the seas. The Space is amazing.

Norwegian Cruises have been offering this style of family style for a number of years now with their ‘ Haven’ area. Private pool and courtyard areas with 3 and 4 bedroom villas have proved a great choice if travelling with family or friends.

MSC have launched their new ships with a 5 berth Suite with a Whirlpool bath on the Balcony. It seems a bigger ship may also bring a wider range of accommodation too and not just the normal choices.

They also offer a Suite only Restaurant area as well as a quiter exclusive pool area.

As as Family of 5 myself I have chosen to try out MSC’s New Ship Seaside this Winter and have gone for the Family Suite. We are all looking forward to this and I will obviously post a review later in the year.

Have you travelled in one of these luxury Suite? I would love to see the pictures!

Until next time
