100 Day Countdown

Well today my holiday countdown hit a major milestone.

100 Days to go!

Booking so far in advance has it’s advantages as well as it’s disadvantages.

I do get asked so much about when is the right time to book and i have to say, I have never been disappointed booking early.

It is a big family holiday we are doing in November. Having two daughters in their late teens means I may not get many opportunities to holiday with them so we decided to go big.

The Ship hadn’t even been built when we booked it so it was venturing really into the unknown.

We booked a Suite as being a family of 5 we always find it difficult to accommodate without paying for 2 cabins. Booking early enabled me to choose the best area on the ship, secure a really good price and allow plenty of time to save up!.

When people ask about booking early, price is generally one of the main factors. Some people do a bit of research before contacting their cruise agent and others prefer for me to hunt out the deals. Either way, when the price is ‘right’ then the booking happens. I do advise that the price is the best available on the day.

Some cruise lines can alter promotions as regularly as once a month. This can sometimes cause a blind panic amongst some as the ‘free Drinks’ offers seems a better deal than the $400 on board credit. It is a case of working out which benefits suit you the most.

If you are happy with the deal then get it booked and don’t get bogged down keeping a track on it once it’s confirmed. There will be times when it drops in price but some cruise lines out there are happy to change you to a better promotion as long as you are happy to pay their admin charge.

Many Cruise Lines these days advertise the ships before they are even built. It is a way to hype up something new and potentially very different from what is out on the market already. Our Cruise ship was no different.

MSC are known for being the ‘love it or hate it’ cruise line. I think this expression is very out dated now and many of my customers who have travelled with them, love them.

Yes there are different, but would it suit to all be the same? We pick a different itinerary every year so why not try a different cruise line?

I love MSC for being so laid back. My holiday is all about relaxing and unwinding. I am not really into all the full on shows and daytime activities that other lines have. For me, I like to have plenty going on but when I want it, a good range of restaurant options without paying a fortune and most of all a nice ship.

It is 4yrs since my last MSC experience on Preziosa. For me this was the start of my love for them. Preziosa at the time was one of their newer additions to the fleet and being just a fraction under 140,000 Tonnes and carrying almost 4000 passengers, she was one of the largest ships I had sailed on so far.

Seaside that we are sailing on is a staggering 153,000 Tonnes with a capacity of just over 6000 passengers. She has been designed to have more outside space as she will be based in the Sunshine state of Florida.

So don’t be put off by those early bird deals! Take my advice and grab that early deal

Until next time!
