Conference 2017 – Butlin’s Skegness

Today is my first day back at work after our conference last weekend and some annual leave. What a great weekend it was! It was my first conference with Cruise.Co and being a cruise company and having heard in the past the conferences had always been on a cruise ship, that was what I was expecting. Rumoured to be departing from Tilbury, which is a stone’s throw from where i live I was really looking forward to it. When it was announced that this year we were unable to find a cruise that offered the facilities we needed on suitable dates and we were going to Butlin’s, the reaction was very mixed to say the least. Most were disappointed, some were excited, but once we got used to the idea that it didn’t matter where it was held, the important thing was that we were getting together for company updates and a bit of fun along the way.

On our way

So after an early start on a lovely winter’s day we arrived at the resort at lunchtime, lots of hugs and kisses and nice to meet you’s and then went to the Coast Restaurant and had a really nice lunch, great fresh food and lots of choice. Afterwards we headed over to the conference room to get our packs and took our seats.

After the welcome sessions from our directors and some really interesting fun presentations from some of our cruise suppliers it was time to check out our accommodation. As you can see below it was of pretty good quality, clean, spacious and well equipped with very comfy beds. Butlin’s has really upped it’s game since I was there last.

So after a bit of a chill it was time to get into our finery for the 60’s night. Great effort was made with some fabulous costumes. Here are a few…

All in all the weekend was a fantastic opportunity to meet my new colleagues, learn more about the company and was very motivational. I’m really looking forward to the next one, hopefully on a cruise ship from Tilbury, but to be fair it could be in a village hall and we at Cruise.co would still have a fabulous time. Until next time…Dee x
