To Be Or Not To Be, With MSC ?

msc caribbean

So this week’s debate, do you cruise with MSC or would you rather stay at home?

I was speaking to a customer earlier this week who believes MSC are a floating hazard, and not a cruise ship you would be proud to sail on. In fact she went onto say it was unsafe for children, very dirty cabins and the passengers are all very ignorant.

In my experience I get a lot of varied reviews on MSC, some believe you get what you pay for, while others say never again. If you are used to sailing with the likes of Celebrity, Cunard etc. Then do not expect to match those standard. (As the price doesn’t)

If you have never sailed with MSC then I would say try them and go with an open mind, and remember the cost you have paid for your cruise. If you want 5* and you expect 5* then don’t travel and pay MSC prices and expect that you are going to get 5*.

MSC are great for a low budget couple or family who wants to cruise. Kids go free with MSC and only pay port taxes, they have fantastic deals with All Inclusive drinks packages, and they are more affordable than most cruise lines.

Yes the general view is it is predominantly Italian and especially if you travel from a cruise port in Italy, just like most Brits like to travel from a port in the UK. If you prefer not to have it this way, why not try a cruise with MSC from Dubai or Caribbean.

To give you an example of costs I have priced 2 cruises below. Both visit the Caribbean for 14 nights, including your flights and an all-inclusive drinks package included. The first is with Celebrity Cruises and is priced at just over £2500.00 per person. MSC may visit the same Caribbean islands and you pay £1497.00 per person that’s a saving of over £1000 each !

However if price rules you head, then remember you are not going to save £1000 each for nothing, you are saving this as it is two completely different cruise lines, and two completely different experiences!

If you are looking to find the most cost effective way to visit the Caribbean islands, then who’s better to offer all this at a very good price? And if you enjoyed the cruise then you have hit jackpot, if you didn’t then do not travel with them again. If you would like to talk more or have any view on this, let me know.
