I`m Off To Norway !

Less  than a week to go now before my cruise on Celebrity Silhouette to the Norwegian Fjords. My best friend and I will be driving down to Southampton on Saturday to board the ship for an 8 night cruise. Holidays abroad have been a bit restricted since the arrival of my rescue dog Rowan nearly 4 years ago now, but, as he can stay with his girlfriend Amber and her mummy, he has given his permission for us to go and leave him for a week!

This is the first year that Silhouette has sailed out of Southampton and I am really looking for ward to the cruise. Personally I prefer smaller ships, Silhouette carries around 2900 passengers, but I have had really good reviews from clients of mine who have already sailed on her this year. They have said how good the food is and how friendly the staff are. We have a lovely balcony cabin on deck 8, the Classic drinks package and have booked traditional second sitting for dinner.

Silhouette has several speciality restaurants and we intend to try Murano, the French Continental style restaurant and also the Tuscan Grill. We may also pay a visit to the Canyon Ranch Spa for a spot or relaxation.

The Fjords are one of the most beautiful places in the world and best seen from the water making them a perfect cruise destination. The itinerary takes in

Flam

Geiranger

Alesund

Satavanger

with two days at sea either end.

I booked the Flam Railway excursion months ago as I know that it can be really difficult to get a space unless you book early. Having been on the Rocky Mountaineer a couple of years ago the description of the Flam one  being ” the most beautiful train journey in the world” means this train  is going to have to be pretty special, but I`ll let you know when I get back .

So I need to get packing now. I will be out of the office from Saturday 1st September until Tuesday 11th September.
