Queen Mary 2…10 fascinating facts!

Following the very special celebrations earlier this month marking Queen Mary 2’s  10th anniversary I came across these fun and pretty amazing facts I would like to share with you. Here are my top 10 facts…one for every year!

2,000 dogs have travelled on board QM2 in the last 10 years.

21,9 million cups of tea have been served & over 2.7 million scones made on board.

Staff on board have served 58 million meals.

Queen Mary 2 uses almost 7,000 boxes of strawberries each year.

1.25 million bottles of champagne have been drunk on board.

Queen Mary 2 is the equivalent weight of 19,000 London Buses.

It took a mind blowing 1 million hours to design the ship and 8 million to build it!

QM2 is approx 1, 132 ft in length, almost as long as the Empire State Building is tall!

Queen Mary 2 stretches nearly 4 football fields in length.

Queen Mary 2 has carried 1.3 million passengers…enough to fill Westminster Abbey 650 times over.
