P&O’s new Caribbean activity tours.

When I think of cruising around the Caribbean I think….white sand beaches, turquoise waters, relaxing and doing very little. I have been to the Caribbean many times and even lived there and I have to admit activity hasn’t been high on my list of things to do. I do love the Caribbean and of course the islands have so much more to offer than just beautiful beaches.

P&O have introduced new activity tours in the Caribbean recently which I think are fantastic. If you are lucky enough to be cruising this year or even next with P&O to the Caribbean then take a look at these new tours.

So what’s new…well you can choose from gliding along a beautiful nature trail, or scuba diving or my favourite of all a helicopter experience.

Which would you choose? Here are the highlights of the new tours from P&O for you to take a look at.

Segway, sights and beach tour in St Lucia..this one is for all the family (children must be 8 or over). After your training session you will be ready to glide along a two mile nature trail. You will explore the historical wonders of Mount Primard and the guide will be there to show you the beautiful flowers and butterflies. The tour will finish at Pigeon Island where you can snorkel and enjoy the beach, relaxing after your gliding adventure.

Coral restoration dive experience in Bonaire…for this you will have to be a certified diver 15 years and over to become a part of the Coral Restoration Foundation in Bonaire. The unique hands-on experience is a combination of classroom instruction and dives to two sites where divers assist the CRFB to conduct surveys, collect data and clean or remove predators that can damage the corals. What an experience for those who have a love of diving, amazing memories from Bonaire.

Helicopter flight in St Kitts…take a 30 minute flight from Port Zante, sweeping along the rocky and black sand shoreline towards the lush rainforests and enjoy a view of the crater of Mount Liamuiga. You will then enjoy the amazing views of the Brimstone Hill Fortress, Romney Manor, the sister island of Nevis in the distance and a bird’s eye view of the cruise ship before coming into land.

As you can see the new tours look fantastic, I’m sure they are going to be really popular for guests enjoying a Caribbean itinerary. So just how much of the Caribbean do you get to see on a 14 night sailing with P&O. You can enjoy 9 beautiful ports during your 14 night itinerary.

Ports of call include Barbados, Grenada, St Lucia, Dominica, St Kitts, St Maarten, Tortola, Curacao, Bonaire and others to choose from depending on your chosen itinerary.

I booked a couple last week on one of the Caribbean itineraries, not only had they never cruised before, they had never seen any of the Caribbean or even flown before. Excited didn’t describe how they were booking their cruise and I can only imagine how amazing this cruise is going to be for them. A once in a life time experience for them, they want to pack as much in as possible and this kind of activity tour will make sure they experience what the Caribbean has to offer whilst on their cruise.
