It`s Christmas – Well Nearly !

Christmas is just under a week away now and I am spending the holiday in one of my favourite places , Thornham in Norfolk. Myself and a group of friends, plus Rowan my dog of course, will be heading off at the weekend for a lovely, long, relaxing  break. Last time I was in Norfolk the weather was glorious but, according to Carol Kirkwood, snow is expected next week  !

My last day in the office was Thursday and then the festivities started with our annual girls lunch at The Butcher`s Arms in Priors Hardwick on Friday, a lovely restaurant and we were all  really spoilt by the staff ! A good time was had by all and then the serious business of packing! I have to keep saying that we do  not need ( nor cannot ) take the whole kitchen with us! We are only in Norfolk not darkest Africa! Having said that there is still load to take – just in case! After all Waitrose are delivering Christmas Dinner on Saturday evening and all we will have to do is a touch of cooking.

Wellies and warm coats will be needed as we go for endless walks on  the beach with the dogs. A couple of visits to Burnham Market, and the Hoste Arms for mulled wine, are on the agenda too. The cottage has a lovely , huge, inglenook fireplace with a log burner along with a big kitchen massive marble topped table. The whole idea of going away to Norfolk was to get out of all the cooking etc. that is inevitable at this time of the year! Failed miserably of course as there now nine of us for Christmas day lunch.

As 2018 draws to a close I just want to say a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my clients, I don`t know what I would do with out you all! Look forward to speaking to you all in 2019!
