May Madness!!

So you may have noticed I haven’t been in the office much this month, this is because I have been lucky enough to attend 2 Cruise ship visits and sail on 2 Cruises. I have included a snippet of each Cruise below and then the full blogs will be coming soon. Overall it has been a busy month and has involved traveling to the UK on the 5th May and then all around the UK. It has been busy but really fun.

Princess Cruises – Royal Princess Mega FAM – 10th-13th May

I joined the Royal Princess from South Queensferry, Edinburgh for the 3 Nights sailing over to Le Havre and on to Southampton. I was onboard with 3 of my cruise.co.uk colleagues; Juliette, Emily, and Kerry. The whole experience was fantastic, the thing that stood out the most was the staff, they were brilliant. We spent a lot of time at the Bellini’s bar and it was so much fun. The staff at the bar were called Josephine, Anthony, and Zen. They were amazing and a real credit to Princess. One night we were lucky enough to dine in the Crown Grill and I’m not usually a steak person but I had the surf and turf and it was incredible. It is definitely worth the $29 cover charge.

Royal Caribbean – Independence of the Seas – 13th-15th May

Before this trip, I had only been on the Legend of the Seas and that didn’t really give me the true feel of Royal Caribbean. The Independence is an amazing ship. They have so much entertainment onboard, starting up on the top decks, they have the Flowrider, the Sky Pad, the water slides and so much more. There is definitely enough entertainment onboard to keep you and your family entertained on a 14 Night Cruise. This sailing was the first sailing after the refurbishment and Royal Caribbean had a great line up for us onboard. Mark Wright was on board as a guest host and guest DJ. In the theatre we saw Grease and the Take That Experience which were both absolutely fantastic.

Cruise & Maritime – Columbus – 16th May Ship Visit

Wow, I was really impressed with Columbus. We had a great day onboard. From start to finish I was impressed by the decor and atmosphere onboard. The staterooms are very spacious and inviting. Cruise and Maritime offer great deals for single staterooms and they are a great choice as there isn’t a high supplement and they are a great size. We had a 4-course lunch at the Waterfront Restaurant and the food was really nice, all 4 courses can be seen below. Cruise and Maritime offer some great itineraries and I would definitely go on the Columbus from London Tilbury in the future.

Fred Olsen – Boudicca – 21st May Ship Visit

All of the Fred Olsen fleet have recently been refurbished and it was definitely money well spent. Boudicca sleeps 800 guests and it has an intimate feel. We boarded at 10am and got to have a full ship tour. We were able to view different stateroom types and all of the public areas. There have been some great modifications from the refurbishment. From the picture below you can see the new Oriental Room which is a beautiful area to try different teas from across Asia.
