Left my heart in San Francisco!!

I have been wanting to visit San Francisco for the last 10 years and when the opportunity to visit came up I definitely jumped on the chance. So, in preparation for my trip, I decided to do a bit of research and I quickly found out there were so many extra sights to see that I first thought. Sights such as; the house from Mrs. Doubtfire and the church from Sister Act, which happens to be one of my favourite films.

Golden Gate Bridge

I got so many great pictures at the Golden Gate Bridge and it was one of the iconic sights that I had been wanting to see for a long time. There are many viewpoints for the bridge and I found the best two was from the bay of San Francisco and also from a boat. We did the Sunset Cruise and we cruised around the bay and under the bride which was amazing. We also saw the San Francisco skyline all lit up at night which was an amazing view.

Alcatraz

The time has finally come to visit Alcatraz and I was so excited. Unfortunately, the day we went, it was raining and quite windy but we didn’t let this stop us having a great day. We did the audio tour whilst we were walking around and it was really interesting, we learned about the various escape attempts and the history of some of the worst criminals that were sent there. Make sure you wear comfy shoes as the walk up to Alcatraz is the equivalent of 13 flights of stairs.

Redwood Forest

WOW!! What can I say?! I wasn’t quite expecting the sheer size of the trees. We drove through the ‘Avenue of the Giants’ and it was just incredible. We decided to go in search of the ‘Giant Tree’, it had a circumference of 53.2 feet and a height of 363 feet. It was astonishing to see such a massive tree in person. I would definitely recommend a trip to Redwood Forest if you’re in the area because it really is a spectacular sight.
