Aqua V Concierge – Which Would You Choose?

If you regularly cruise with Celebrity you will, am sure, know what I am talking about!  Celebrity have some great different cabin options and two of these are Concierge and Aqua class.  As I am currently due to travel with Celebrity in Aqua class pretty soon, I wondered how many of you would choose these?   I would say there is no real difference in the size of cabins  but in the amenities you get whilst on board.

So, what are the differences.  Let me start with Aqua then. The Aqua class cabins are very close to the Spa area so if we want to go for a massage we can wonder there in our bath robes, without feeling stupid. We also get free access in the Persian Garden for a bit of relaxation.   Aqua Class services include: daily delivery of bottled water and tea, priority check-in, express luggage delivery, priority disembarkation and complimentary shoeshine service. For me and the main reason I choose Aqua class is you get  exclusive access to Blu, a specialty restaurant only for Aqua class clients which  features  “clean cuisine.”  This is not some weird style of cooking just without the heavy sauces etc that you can get, simply put I would say a wee bit healthier choice. The big plus for Keith and I is we do not have to eat in the main dining room and we can eat on a table for 2.  Not that we are anti social but in our time of cruising, we have had some unlucky tables (dare I just say that!) suffice to say a table for 2 is better for us. This restaurant is on a “anytime” basis and serves breakfast and dinner – smashing!

In a Aqua class cabin you also get some little extras which can make your trip more enjoyable, such as,  aromatherapy diffuser, pillow menu, additional bathroom amenities, including shower gel, facial spray and lip balm, Plush Frette bathrobes, slippers, oversized 100% cotton bath towels, and on-demand wellness programming including meditation and yoga. Stateroom features Hansgrohe shower panel and fog-free mirror.

Then we have the Concierge cabins. No difference in the dining here, you have to eat in the main dining room, unless of course you pay more for one of the special restaurants. With Concierge you do get some nice extras – Service-included is priority check-in, priority disembarkation,  personalized concierge service, complimentary shoeshine service, express luggage delivery, main and specialty restaurant seating time preferences, and upgraded room service menu. You also get fresh flowers and a bit of fizz in your cabin, along with a nice Concierge lounge where you get canapes if you like that sort of thing. However, I hate to say this but would you really want to eat canapes when you have so much food around anyway!

I wish I could say the prices of both Aqua and Concierge are the same as the normal balcony cabins, sadly they are not.  I am sure you would all expect to pay a bit more for these services however, they can be an awful lot more.  I also think the Aqua class cabins are better situated, maybe that’s just me.

Perhaps another great perk would be the express luggage delivery and the priority embarkation/disembarkation. If there is one thing that can get on my nerves is the hanging around to get off the ship!

I’m really looking forward to my forthcoming cruise in Aqua and will of course report back, truthfully.  If you have experienced the above, would love to know your thoughts and tips!

Till next time x
