QUANTUM Fun for everyone!!!!!

Let me start by saying the Quantum of the seas is by far the most exciting ship I have ever sailed on. From dawn to dusk there is something for everybody! It would take me all day to tell you about every activity, so here are my top 5 tips to keep you busy.

1/ SEAPLEX!

The ever changing largest indoor leisure space at sea. The Seaplex hosts an abundance of activities to keep all ages busy.  Young or old you would be hard pushed not to find something to entertain yourself here. Whether a light game of table tennis, playing your favourite Xbox game, bumper cars, Roller-skating , basket ball or discovering a new talent during a lesson in circus skills. There’s even a snack bar called the  Seaplex Dog house where you can refuel on hotdogs and donuts before undertaking your next challenge.

During our stay on the Quantum  we were able to try didn’t activities at the Seaplex so I took part in the Circus skills class trying my hand a the flying trapeze, an experience I will never forget. Firstly let me say the organisers of this activities have the patients of saints and certainly had their work cut out with me. By eventually after realising I have a big fear of heights and with ALOT of coaching I was able step of the balcony and glide (Not really gracefully) on the trapeze. I may have screamed like a girl but I did it and was so pleased I tried something different.

2/ ifly by rip cord.

When you think of sky diving I’m sure your first thought would be being strapped to a parachute and free falling to the earth. You certain wouldn’t think of doing this in the middle of the sea, but yet again for the first time ever RCCL have made this a reality for all ages. So picture this the rear of this stunning ship with a spectacular view of the ocean  a thrilling sky-diving simulator that is almost as much fun for spectators as it is for participants. During our stay I had the very entertaining chance of watching our very own homeworker of the year  Holly Crabtree and our CEO Seamus Coleman test this out and it was probably the most amusing part of the weekend.

3/ Northern Star

Anther first for RCCL this egg-shaped cocoon on the end of a giant hydraulic arm, takes you place on a cruise line you can only dream of. Each  capsule  which resemble pod from the London eye carries 14 passengers at a time on a breath-taking 15-minute ride 300ft above the sea level , giving unprecedented views of the ship and the ocean. Just imagine being in one of these in New York harbour or a Caribbean island at sunset and the views you would see.

4/ Royal Theatre.

On our second night we were treated to the very first public production of Mama Mia. At the start of the show the producer took the stage and welcomed us to the performance and explained that when he was asked to recreate this favourite that everything had to be exactly the same at the original Broadway hit. I really didn’t think anyone could better the show I saw 12 years ago in London, but they DID IT and  I loved it, I danced, laughed sang and cried it was an amazing night.

5/Flow Rider

Lastly I think this is a must for watersports fans and a favourite for RCCL customers recreated and back by popular demand, this flow rider is a surfing simulator are the rear of the ship and a test of stamina of how long you can stay on your feet.

So these are my top 5 but like I said there was so much I could have told you but we would have been here all day. However here are some of the photos I took. Next week I will bring you my last instalment of my trip finishing with my first experience in Dynamic dining, Until then ………………………………….
