Halloween flash back

So another year passes and this time the traditional Fuller’s Halloween party didn’t take place. I was absolutely gutted. I usually use my mums house and transform her garden into a scare zone as she has lot more space than me but she’s put her house on the market and as I don’t move for a few weeks it just wasn’t possible this year. however, next year will be the best yet and I already can’t wait for it.

Here’s a few photo’s I’ve never shared before from the last couple that we’ve hosted.  The props are a mixture of items I’ve bought and brought back from the U.S.A and some are props I’ve made myself in my very little spare time throughout the year. Of course I’ve taken a few ideas from some old classic horror movies. Our party is strictly fancy dress, no costume no entry and no exceptions. I go to a lot of trouble to prepare this for one night of terror and fun and won’t allow anyone to join us if not made the effort to dress up. Sorry Kids, but this was also adults only.

We choose a different theme every year and decorate the outside of the house as well as the garden.

This is an example of one of the props I made myself. I used an old oil drum, painted it and attached radiation stickers and on top I used a piece of glass to hide a gruesome corpse inside. The effect looked really good like I had a corpse in the barrel. I took this idea from the Return of the living Dead movie from the 80’s. Even little touches like a keypad alarm on the side made it look so authentic.

Some of the Animatronics I brought back from holidays to the U.S were these. You just can’t get them over here like these. Again each of my houses had a theme, I used the garden to build separate little rooms. Gazebos work well for this for partition them.

This was one of my rooms. An old dead lady rocking in a chair with her baby in her arms. The T.V was fake but gave the illusion of ghosts on the T.V. This was inside a gazebo that I even wallpapered the room to give it an old style look with cobwebs etc and black and white photos. Some of these photos aren’t doing it justice as you had to be there to see it to really appreciate it. I’m sure you get the idea though.

Using mannequins and dressing them up is a good way to have scary props. I used typically classic horror movies like a Nightmare on Elm Street and Michael Myers from Halloween as some amongst others. Some of the themed rooms were on each of these so I made sure I had a mannequin in each room. Others I had were themes from Friday the 13th and Pennywise the scary clown from I.T

Some of the costumes and trouble people went to were pretty impressive.

Of course last year as I got married it just seemed good to go as a ghost Bride & Groom.

I hope you liked the photos. Look out for about this time next year as I promise it’ll be my best party yet.  I’m already working on ideas and plans are already in place.
