Mansion before our Wedding.

I got married recently and if you read my previous blog you’ll see it was in Florida. I wanted to share some photos of the villa we stayed in. It was more of a mansion to be fair. Twelve bedrooms and 15 bathrooms it was well equipped to look after the 20 of us who stayed there.

My Wedding

For those who didn’t know I got married recently. Having been with my Girlfriend now for 8 years and engaged for 3 years we finally tied the knot at the beautiful resort of Paradise Cove in Orlando. Sarah says that I had been dragging my heels and that 3 years was far too long to be engaged. I think she was just being inpatient. I, however think it worked out just right as there was a lot of planning to arrange and when getting Married overseas it can be quite stressful when your Wedding planner is 4,000 miles away. This had been 3 years in the making. A lot of hard work from everyone involved to make our day perfect. We like to think that we have done this in true style. From start to finish. If you’re going to do it then do it right, right?

My East Coast Adventure

So, I’ve just returned from a work trip to New York, Niagara Falls and Toronto. Yes, that’s right you read it correctly a work trip. Wow and what a trip it was. I was given the opportunity at the very last minute to join a colleague and help our Tailor-Made team by escorting some of our passengers on a tour. I couldn’t say no to that.

What is Bliss at sea?

NCL will be having their 16th ship built and it will be Bliss. Not that I know this for sure and in advance but the name of the ship will be the NCL Bliss. I certainly hope it lives up to its name. I’ve not experienced NCL myself and I would like to. I’m not sure I’m so keen on the resort casual. I do like a formal evening and I do like to put on a shirt and tie and make an effort for dining. Not every night but I think that’s what cruising use to be all about. The formal nights at sea. I do worry some cruise lines will end up like Ocean Village if they’re not careful and we all remember they were known for the slogan “For those who don’t do cruises”

Are you covered?

Now this may seem a silly question to ask but are you you covered? Yes, do you have travel insurance? I’m sure you’re all thinking, of course, we wouldn’t book a holiday and not take out travel insurance. Well, it does happen and I don’t think people realise the seriousness until it hits them hard and they’re financially out of pocket.

Cuba

I visited Cuba recently and had an amazing experience. The people, the way of life and culture. I learned a lot of it’s history, more than just what I would have learned at school. It was very interesting to see at first hand what life is like there.

Cuba with Intrepid

I’ve just returned from a week in Cuba. This wasn’t on a cruise or a city break in Havana or even just a beach break in Varedero. This was a escorted tour seeing the real Cuba. Yes, I did start in Havana and I did see a beach in Trinidad but I saw a lot more to Cuba than just the usual you’d expect to see in a holiday brochure. This was all down to Intrepid who happen to be experts when it comes to escorted tours. They know there stuff and are well organised. They started way back in 1988 and are sending 100,000 people every year through 120 countries over their 1500 plus itineraries. They’re kinda a big deal. They pride themselves on being able to provide small groups to have big adventures and be responsible when it comes to travel.
