Explorer of Seas

So, I recently return from my own holiday in Alaska. I cruised with Royal Caribbean and was on the Explorer of the Seas.  This ship being part of the Voyager Class. This ship is also coming back to the U.K for next summer and will be based in Southampton along with one of sister ships the independence of the Seas from the Freedom Class. I like both.

I like Royal Caribbean even though I don’t agree with how they do everything. for example the who Gratuities and tipping procedure. I’ll save that or another time.

As like all Royal Caribbean ships the Explorer of the seas has a nice Promenade. Cafes, pub, shops and occasional entertainment takes place along here.

I thought the ship was beautiful and I have to admit I do prefer the Freedom class as it is a little bigger. I am a fan of the larger ships.

On this occasion I was fortunate enough to have won some Royal Caribbean Vouchers so I treated us to a Grand Suite. If you can stay in a Suite above Junior Suite, the perks and benefits are well worth it. Priority boarding, Concierge lounge for free drinks and reserved seating area at the Ice and Theatre shows just to name a few. Breakfast in the Chops Grille, Butler service, complimentary pressing on one of the formal nights. Worth having a look at the perks.

Our cabin was of a decent size compared to standard balcony cabins

A full size bathroom with a shower and a tub.

Large balcony too.

Overall I really enjoyed myself and I made the most of the Suite benefits as it certainly won’t be a Suite on every occasion. I had good food, good service and the entertainment was of a decent standard, especially the Ice-Show. Already looking forward to my next cruise with Royal Caribbean.
