Drinks on us? Really P&O?

Now we all have heard of All Inclusive and we do like a drink to be included somewhere on our package holidays. Ocean liners such as Royal Caribbean and Celebrity and others have been known to sell various drinks packages on their ships. With several to choose from there is surely going to be enough to find one that suits everyone. P&O don’t do such drinks packages so when recently I saw a campaign and promotions of price reductions in fare and drinks on us. Wow I have to admit the first thing I thought was wow P&O are doing drinks packages and us Brits we do like an All Inclusive.

No, not what you think and blimey have I had a lot of phone calls from unhappy customers expressing their disappointment at the campaign. Very misleading P&O. Drinks on us?! Given extra on board credit o buy yourself a drink on you guys is probably the poorest promotion I have seen and the most complained about from customers. If you want everyone to have a drink on you, why not just send out a drinks voucher to be redeemed on board? At least then people would know that’s all it is. Having to explain this to customers is also quite embarrassing so please P&O get rid and do something a bit more appealing. Something not so misleading, I think it’s a terrible campaign. What do you think? Personally I wouldn’t have any drinks packages on board. I think this will encourage people to binge drink and soon cruise ships at sea will just be like a tacky hotel where everyone stands at the bar for that extra free drink. Keep the style and have people drink responsibly and in moderation whilst on board. The service is much better too when you’re not all squeezing in at the bar to get another drink. I will be glad to see the back of this campaign as for me the Drinks on us promotion just hasn’t worked!
