MSC – The truth about Coathangers and Bread.

Following on from last weeks blog I’m now back from my cruise on the resplendent MSC Preziosa which sailed from a rather flooded Venice through the Mediterranean via Malta to Barcelona. Having heard so much negative feedback about MSC cruises in the past this has been a great experience to finally see for myself the product on offer. I’ll discuss my findings regarding the myths about MSC in my next blog but I had to take this opportunity to mention a few little things that stuck in my mind – and it’s the little things that make the difference right?

Firstly the bread on board was fantastic, and having been lucky enough to enjoy an escorted galley tour I can tell you that the on board bakery never stops, the guys down there work 24 hours a day producing fresh bread on a daily basis, 24 hours a day! A little detail I know but there is nothing worse than being given old/stale bread to start your meal, the bread on board MSC Preziosa was superb and this little detail somehow gave the impression that the meal to follow would be of an equally high standard – which it was, except for one but you can’t win ’em all right?

Now I don’t know if anyone else feels the way I do but another little thing that stuck in my mind were the coathangers in my cabin wardrobe. There is nothing worse than packing all your favourite and finest only to be greeted by a wardrobe with 2 or 3 coathangers in it, leaving you to keep everything creased up in your suitcase under the bed. Well not with MSC Preziosa, imagine my joy when I first opened my wardrobe to be confronted by the sight of 19 – yes 19 hangers. I was like a kid in a candy shop, between me and my room mate we even had spares – spares!…..When does that ever happen I hear you cry, probably never.

Maybe I’m easily pleased but let me tell you a quality bread roll on the first night and more coat hangers than I could shake a stick at I could tell the MSC Preziosa was going to be a winner.

More to follow, bye for now.
