When I first heard about this story I quite frankly couldn’t believe it. Mysterious sonic attacks on government officials in Cuba, it reads like something out of a James Bond film but more worryingly however it appears to be true.

Thomson Cruises has recently revealed its newest and most epic itinerary onboard TUI Discovery, “Electric Sunsets”. The three night adults only music fuelled cruise will depart from Newcastle on 1st September 2018 and will sail party goers across the North Sea and back to the 80s with DJ sets and guest appearances that are sure to spread disco fever.

Personally I like to take a relaxed approach to my holidays, I believe cruising is one of the best ways to take it easy and wind down whilst taking a well earned break. However if you prefer to work up a sweat and leap around like a maniac possessed, I have just the cruise for you!

Another first for the cruise industry with the announcement that legal same-sex weddings at sea will become reality in 2018. P&O Cruises recently became the first British cruise line to offer same sex weddings at sea, with ceremonies beginning in January 2018.

The Costa Concordia tragedy seems like so long ago now so I was surprised to hear that the dismantling and recycling of the infamous cruise liner has only just been completed in Italy, marking the official end to final phase of what is considered the largest maritime salvage job in history.

We all tend to hear about the worlds busiest airports and the sheer numbers of people passing through them on a daily basis, so I thought for a change I’d take a look at some of the worlds busiest cruise ports and see just how many people they have to organise. We know over recent years cruising has become more and more popular to people of all ages but these passenger numbers still surprised me.

Well in case the monumental occasion passed you by, Sunday May 28th was indeed Americas ‘National Burger Day’ (surely you’re not surprised), and getting in to the spirit of the occasion were two of Americas largest cruise operators – Carnival Cruise Lines and Holland America Line.
