Sailing under the stars…literally

Ships nowadays have all these fantastic experiences to try on board such as dining in themed restaurants like ‘QSine’ on Celebrity, or maybe trying to become a surf pro on the ‘flo rider’ with Royal Caribbean, and not forgetting ‘movies under the stars’ with Princess.

Next month our office is going to be heading on board the Queen Mary2 for our Christmas conference, which incidentally used to be called our ‘Christmas cruise’ but over the years a few ex-employees decided to enjoy themselves a little too much so it is now called a Christmas conference and we actually have to work on-board for 3 days. No rest for the wicked eh!!

One thing I’m really looking forward to having a look at on-board is the Planetarium. Many of my customers have been returning from sailings over the last few months with mixed feedback on the QM2. Many have said there is a distinct difference between her being a cruise liner and not a cruise ship. They were glad to have tried her but would probably not repeat the experience. I’m looking forward to sailing on her for myself to give first-hand advice to future customers.

The Planetarium is one thing that they have all said must not be missed, apparently you have to queue in the morning to get your ticket for allocated show times throughout the day and it is not open every day, if I don’t get a ticket I’ll try to sneak in somehow. Last time I visited a planetarium I was at first school on my very first school trip, I wonder if it’s changed much, ha ha…..

I’ll let you know what my sailing under the stars experience was like in a few weeks’ time…..
