South Beach comes to MSC

MSC have 2 new ships on order due to be delivered in 2017 and 2018

There are new ships coming into the market all of the time and they are all trying to come up with new and original ideas to make them different from their competitors.

MSC are going to have a promenade deck close to the sea level to give passengers the feeling of being at the beach. There will be a theatre, restaurants and even a panoramic sea view lift to take passengers to a higher deck without even going inside the ship.

Using cantilever technology the promenade deck will be a lot wider than normal to accommodate these venues and they will be using wind-tunnel technology and glass deflectors so that people will feel like they are dining outside even when they are indoors.

I am not sure how popular this area will be but I think I would probably spend more time there as I am guessing that a lot of families will stay up on the top decks which tends to where they have more day time entertainment and is closer to the buffet. I like to find somewhere a bit quieter which is why I enjoyed the infinity pool on the MSC Preziosa.

MSC managing director Giles Hawke has described it as very South Beach so we will have to wait and see if it will be able to live up to that.
