Royal Caribbean to close their UK call centre and move it to Guatemala

It has recently been announced that Royal Caribbean will be vastly reducing it’s UK trading services and closing it’s UK call centre in coming months.

This will cause up to 100 UK job losses as the cruise firm out sources their call centre operation to Guatemala.

This comes as the the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity brands move a little further apart.

A UK and Ireland call centre for Celebrity Cruises will be setup in early 2014 and will employ about 50 staff.

Although I am sure that the new call centre will do a good job, I know that many consumers in general much prefer to deal with UK call centres.

I do feel sorry for the people that will lose their jobs and I hope things work out well for them.

The good news is that I am firmly planted in the UK, my clients can contact me anytime they need on my direct 0800 number and I will call Guatemala if necessary, so it’s business as usual for my clients.
