Cunard have recently announced that they are going to have to cancel two of their future sailings on the Queen Victoria.
The cruises will be a Canaries cruise which was scheduled to set sail on the 3rd January 2015 and the other a five night cruise on the 15th January 2015.
The Victoria had a scheduled dry dock for works to be taken out in December 2015 but unfortunately these works have had to be brought forward as a bearing needs to be replaced on on a propulsion unit before she sets sail on her 2015 world voyage.
Cunard have told passengers already booked on these voyages that they can switch to an alternative sailing within 2 years and receive £100 per person future cruise credit or they can cancel with a full refund.
I am quite disappointed to hear about this as I have some passengers already booked on these cruises although I understand it is just an unfortunate set of circumstances. If essential maintenance has to be carried out for the ship to be able to sail properly then I shouldn’t imagine Cunard have a lot of choice in the matter.
While this is sad news I feel that this is a valid reason to have to do this and unfortunately just can’t be helped.
I hope this doesn’t cause too much inconvenience to any passengers that have already chosen to book on these voyages.
