Can Royal Caribbean really keep everyone happy with dining arrangements ?

It is almost time for Royal Caribbean’s new ship, the Anthem to launch and as mentioned previously I am really excited to be sailing on the pre-inaugural cruise to experience her first hand.

There are many new features and details that are specific to this new class of Quantum ship and one of them is the new Dynamic dining concept, which I am sure many of you have heard about.

Dynamic dining basically lets people dine where they like, when they like, this I think is very familiar to the “Freestyle” dining option that Norwegian Cruise line offer. This dining option was set to be the only option available on the new Anthem of the Seas sailings departing  from Southampton. In the past Royal Caribbean have always offered a set early or late option with a separate my-time option for clients wanting more flexibility.

Since the Quantum of the Seas launch there have been varied reviews on the Dynamic dining and some people have moaned about it saying that they preferred the more traditional options that were previously available.

It seems that Royal Caribbean aren’t fully committed to what they are going to do with their dining options as yet as they had previously announced that Dynamic dining was going to be launched on the Oasis and Allure of the Seas, this has since been put on hold for the time being.

Also I hear that they may be testing some new “classic” options on the Anthem of the Seas when it is launched.  These new options still include Dynamic dining as it is now but would also have a set early and late dining where you would sit with the same people and have the same waiters each night, this time however you would all rotate between four main restaurants.

I am glad to hear that Royal Caribbean are listening to passengers and are happy to try new options, as far as I am concerned I’m not to worried about it and I can;t wait to experience the ship no matter how the dining options are set.
