Rule Britannia

I am beginning to feel like an expectant parent with all these imminent arrivals!

Firstly, the long-awaited P&O baby Britannia, who will be welcomed into her new home port of Southampton by no less than Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh on March 10th.

I am very excited as I have been invited on board for a night so I can see first hand what the largest cruise ship built for the British market has to offer.

A few days after my trip to Southampton, I will be heading off to Tilbury to see another “newbie”, this time in the shape of Cruise and Maritime’s Magellan, who will be the line’s proud new flagship. Not quite a newbie as she was built in 1985 for Carnival Cruise Lines but she is completely reliveried with a new library and card room and re-themed bars, so it will be good to spend a night on her to again see first-hand what this new addition has to offer.

And finally, I have just received my invitation to spend 2 nights on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas when she launches in Southampton in April.

Another much-hyped/anticipated baby for RCL which I cannot wait to see for myself.

I look forward to reporting back from all 3 amazing events.
