Dublin’s Calling!

It’s that time of year again for our annual  Christmas conference.

For those of you who kindly spend time reading my blogs, this will be my sixth time attending this event. For most people, the company Yuletide party is maybe an evening at a local restaurant possibly followed by a few more drinks and maybe a bit of a dance. At Cruise.co.uk, we like to go one better and extend this to three or four days and usually where else but on a ship.

This weekend, we will be sailing to Dublin on Cruise and Maritime’s Marco Polo. I have sailed to Amsterdam in January on board her so I’m sure the Irish Sea in December will prove as smooth due to her deep draft and broad hull. She is an intimate classic cruise ship taking around 800 passengers. This will be my third visit to Dublin but my first sailing from Bristol Avonmouth.

As many of us work from home, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet our colleagues and we will also be joined by representatives from several other cruise lines to learn all about the exciting plans they have for 2019.

One thing that seems to have become a tradition with conference is a fancy dress party and this year is no exception with the theme of film characters so look out for the photos!

In Dublin, I will be doing a bit of sight-seeing and shopping and then we will be having a party in Temple Bar. There is a great atmosphere here and the musicians and decorations make you feel really festive.

Here are a few of the pictures from previous years. Can you spot my fancy dress (clue blue face!!)

So, whatever you have planned, I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for your loyal custom and Seasons Greetings!
