Don’t Forget What’s On Your Doorstep!!

John and I have just got back home from the most beautiful wedding of a dear friend in Rye in East Sussex.
We decided to make a nice long weekend of it and booked a hotel for 2 nights where a lot of the wedding guests were staying. We arrived on Friday in torrential rain and braved it out below brollies to explore.
What a lovely place. It took just over an hour to get there from our house. Both my parents are originally from Hastings which is just under 10 miles away and yet was our first visit. The town is seeped in history and although the real cobble stones everywhere were lethal to those of us in heels at the wedding they were stunning.
The next morning, the sun was shining on the happy couple and the picture was even more stunning. The place was suddenly packed with tourists of all nationalities and we really felt like we were on holiday.
In 2010, my Aunt invited me to join her on a Fred Olsen cruise of the British Isles on board Balmoral. We spent 10 nights exploring places in the UK and Ireland I had never seen including Guernsey, the Orkney Islands and the Isle of Man.
It was fantastic and the weather was glorious.
Fred Olsen still have some availability on Balmoral for 16th July this year and Princess Cruises have summer dates on Caribbean Princess with fabulous deals starting at just £599pp for an inside cabin on a 12 night itinerary departing on 11th July.
