MS KONINGSDAM

This is my first Holland America experience and had no idea of what was waiting for me. With their black and white good old traditional liners I had the impression of all dark and old fashioned but what a surprise their latest edition to the fleet was. Koningsdam is the first ship in the new Pinnacle-class combining the best of what guests love with engaging new experiences. Designer Adam D. Tihany and architect Bjorn Storbraaten teamed up to find new ways of blending rich heritage along with forward thinking, light filled spaces, visual drama and sophisticated interiors have been inspired by the fluid curves of musical instruments.

I could not get over the feel of space at every turn and the lighting, a personal passion of mine was breathtaking along with artwork and real flower displays everywhere.
These two alone were so very different and I had to touch to believe they were real. To me the ship had the elegant feel of a Celebrity ship making the most of every available space from corridor to stairwell. Each landing had the most dramatic painting. Also the artwork was stunning

Now my light fitting passion. Wow beautiful, some calm and cool others bright and bold depending on what mood was required in certain venues.

Just a few of so many. I did love everything about her and would certainly look at sailing on her or any of the larger Holland America ships.
With so many amazing deals still available for this year I am sure I can find something to tempt you all. Next time we can look at the outside spaces.
