How lucky am I

Last Friday I was lucky enough to to spend a few hours on board the Beautiful Queen Victoria.  I set off from home at 7.15am to arrive at Pier Head Cruise Terminal at 9.30 but where was the  Ship? I thought I was either lost or got the wrong day. But due to tide conditions she was late leaving or last port of call. I was quite excited even though I have cruised many times I had never experienced a Cunard Ship. To add to the excitement the embankment was packed with lots of people with state of the art camera equipment  also awaiting her arrival. It was certainly a big event for Liverpool which is an amazing city. I was very impressed with the waterfront area and to see the Liver Building and Cunard buildings side by side all cleaned up just made me more sure that I want to attend the 3 Queens event being held there next May. Around 10.30am we heard the famous sound of her horns blowing as she made her entrance into dock and to me it was a goose bumps moment.

I have booked  many passengers onto Cunard so I had an idea of what she would be like but I was amazed at the amount of open spaces there was for such a traditional Ocean liner.   The elegance and richness of her furnishings could be felt everywhere. I did wonder if the Grill areas would be very much a ‘keep out’ so to speak area for other guests but no it was very discrete. No big signs and on Victoria this area is all together so you would not stumble across it to be turned away. I must say however it was totally  amazing and would love to experience that myself one day. (a girl can dream). There are plenty of little areas to chill and relax in lovely little bars, and lounges as well as an amazing nightclub area. The spa, well ahhhhhh.  What did surprise me was the children’s facilities. Both the club areas had lots to keep all ages from babies to teens amused for hours.

After our tour we were treated to a scrumptious lunch in the Britannia Restaurant as on Cunard the food is the main topic of conversation and yes bliss. From the feel of the restaurant, the elegance of the table and choice on the menu. The service was faultless to say the least. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a quality holiday.lunch victoriaship visit qv
