Cruise.Co Christmas Conference

I have certainly started the festive Season with a bang. The annual Cruise.Co.UK conference, what better way to start the celebrations than sharing 3 nights on board Fred Olsen’s Boudcicca with the amazing team I am honoured to work with and for. However myself and a few others had a sneaky pre night in Liverpool just to get the ball rolling.

This is the 2nd year in a row that we have used a Fred Olsen ship to host the event and once again we were really looked after. Boucdicca is the 2nd smallest in the fleet at 28,551 tonnage and she carries just 880 guests. Fred Olsen describe their fleet as ‘real ships’ with a classic design on a more human scale. Although smaller ships I was surprised at how spacious and open she felt, the superior outside cabin was pleasant and much bigger than I expected. I did notice a vast difference when walking on decks 7 and above how much brighter the decor was as these decks house the Balcony cabins and Suites.

The afternoon was taken up with interesting talks given by our Directors advising of facts and figures and plans for the future. Then a special dinner and an 80’s evening was held for us to let our hair down so to speak. We had moved on a decade from last year’s 70’s but the outfits were just as funny. What an amazing night I do believe it went on until after 4am lightweight that I am I only managed 1.30am

Now if you are wondering I was Crystal Carrington from the 80’s series Dynasty. But just look at Dawn and Alison as the Smurfs that blue make up was
still slightly detectable the next morning. Hats off to them.

Although long days in Conference we did have a whole day in Dublin. A City tour followed by free time gave us the chance to explore and shop or sample the Irish nectar they call Guinness. Some had more than others and the transfer back to the ship was a lot lighter than on the way out. Do not worry they all got taxis from Temple Barr. What a beautiful City I am sure I will return to see more.dublin di

I am not a beer drinker but I had to give it a go. Diane had a pint as she had tried it before but I played safe with half although I had two but the second one had blackcurrant added to it. An good time was had by all.

May I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and thank you most sincerely for booking with me. I do hope you all have an amazing New Year and look forward to working with you on your next cruise holiday.
