Where are my tickets?

So the cruise you booked all those months before is finally approaching and you can’t think about anything else, then all of a sudden you realise that you have not received anything at all from your cruise agent since you made the booking, you start to sweat, is my cruise actually booked, have I made a big mistake booking from a company over the internet? All very fair and common thoughts, however in this day and age technology is king and slow mail is just so last decade.

Any ways no need to worry, all is not lost. Over the last 4 or 5 years the majority of cruise lines have now gone electronic, which basically means, all paperwork will be electronic and nothing will ever come through the post any more. Each and every cruise line now has their own personalised electronic ticket system, here as a cruise customer you will be able to book tours, add drinks packages, pay for tips or organise a birthday gift. However the most important function of this service is the ticketing section. This can be rather complicated and has been known to send many cruise customers over the edge, even sending them into an early grave. Never fear with most cruise lines you will need to first enter all your API details, by this I mean passport details, travel insurance details and next of kin details, then only then will you be able to navigate to the “Print my travel documents” section. Again something to watch out for, if your cruise has been booked on a guarantee cabin fare(cabin allocated nearer the time) you will not be able to print your tickets until the cabin number has been allocated to you. This is where most cruisers have been caught out and lost the will to live, “Why can’t I print out my tickets” “I have filled all the bloody sections in and I have green ticks next to everything”.  No cabin number, No tickets. However in all honesty, most times it’s not your fault, you have done everything correctly, it’s the cruise lines system misbehaving and sending us all to an early grave.

Important Note

You will not be able to retrieve your cruise tickets unless you have filled out all the information the cruise line requests, it makes no difference how many times you call us to tell us you are fed up with the stupid system and just want your tickets.

Trust me when I say, I get as frustrated as you all do when it comes to retrieving tickets.

But this is the way forward and as much as we all hate it, we just have to get used to it.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU
