A load of old ship

ebay

Have you ever gone on a cruise and accidentally come away with part of the ship? We don’t mean the anchor – perhaps more like a pen you took from your cabin or perhaps, (more unusually) a coat hanger? Or else have you ever bought a particularly tacky cruise ship souvenir? –

Now admit it, how many of you have been a cruise and bought a tee shirt or a fridge magnet, it amazes how many people actually collect these sort of things when they go on a cruise, I used to remember staring at people and thinking”are you really going to buy that” we used to sell all kinds of crap in the gift shops on board, from teddy bears with the name of the ship on, ship models, god knows what people did with them when they got home. I know I should not be saying this but I truly believe people turn their brains off when they go on holiday. I will share a secret, those cheap ugly ship gifts, were where the cruise line made the most money, the mark up on them was ridiculous and it was all made in China. There used to be people that had huge collections of all the different ship models, I remember once a passenger was so angered that we did not have one in stock that he made me call shore side so that we could have one waiting for him when he disembarked, I thought he was absolutely mental !!!

Those things were quite expensive too, god knows where he was putting it, they were so ugly, I can only think he used them for door stops. I could go on for ages about some of the items people purchased but if you do not believe me click the link below and find out exactly what crap people really buy
