Another bites the dust

WOW

What is this world coming too, I remember as a boy growing up thinking about all the wonderful exotic places I thought I would never be able to experience, they all seemed so far away. Then slowly the airline industry took off and these exotic places seemed just a little closer. How exciting knowing that just maybe, I might actually be lucky enough to get to see them. Airline tickets got cheaper and more routes around the world opened up. This was going to be one crazy adventure coming my way…………………………………..

Trips to Australia, America, Caribbean and Europe all very safe and all very affordable. I probably travelled for about 15 years in all. However all od a sudden in September 2011 the world was witness to the most devastating attacks, New York (I was actually up the Empire State building the day before 9/11. Who were these deadly people and how would the world change directly after 9/11. Well skip along 15 years and things are very different, airlines are becoming nervous, and understandably so. Even cruise lines are becoming nervous about the countries they cruise too. Is the world suddenly becoming much smaller again, are my nieces only going to be able to dream like I once did? It is a very frightening world we no live in, we are suddenly nervous about visiting overseas countries, worried that we might end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is all such a shame, However for me personally it makes no difference, I will still travel it’s in my blood now, can’t shake the addiction off, as long as the airlines fly there I will be going.

It would be interesting to hear from others, how they are reacting to this new threat that we are having to deal with.

So another country off the list for the time being
