Human Smuggling Ring Foiled

The passengers were travelling under forged Japanese passports.  This is far from the pictures you see in the news of over crowded fishing boats attempting to smuggle people.  Each of the immigrants had their own cabin!!

This is the first I have heard about smuggling people on cruise ships.  Usually the immigration is very solid at the ports you embark the ship.

Now from working on the cruise ships all over the world,  I have seen all manner of different nationalities and races and some of them did look a bit dubious as in how can they afford to cruise? However ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ these people might well be amongst some of the richest people in the world for all I know and not be involved in people trafficking!!

It was because of the sharp eyed immigration officer in Red Hook Brooklyn that the plan was foiled as he spotted the fake passports.
