What’s your favorite Caribbean Island??

I’ve been very lucky to have done two Caribbean Cruises. My first out of San Juan on Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas I traveled with my mum and sister. My second from Fort Lauderdale with my husband and son sailing on Royal Princess, here are some of the islands we visited.

We loved Old San Juan, where the ships dock right in the town, with its  forts and elegant cobbled streets. Spanish colonial buildings its one of the Caribbeans most attractive spots…

St Thomas the  port Charlotte Amalie is one of the busiest in the Caribbean for cruise ships. You can take a cable car and get a fantastic view of the island and the port below. There’s lots of pirate history on the island you can visit black beards castle, or visit the beautiful Magens Bay. We chose to do and island tour and we have also swam with the turtles which was an amazing experience.

St Maarten is one of my favorites with its pretty colorful shops and bars along the beach front. You can take a water taxi over to the town from the cruise terminal where you can shop till your drop or you may want to grab a bucket of beer and a couple of sunbeds and relax for the afternoon. You could alternatively take a trip to Orient beach of the famous Maho beach  where the beach bar lists all take off and landings for that day not for the faint hearted…. maho beach

Antigua the cruise ships dock in the town of St John’s with an abundance of shops and cafe bars. from here you can take a tour to English Harbor with Nelsons dockyard. Then up to the viewing point of Shirley  heights with stunning views of the island. You may decided to visit one of the 365 beaches one for everyday of the year which one will you choose??

St Lucia a visit to the Pitons is a must we did it by catamaran and also visited Marigot Bay featured on Dr Doolittle. This islands beaches I didn’t find as nice as its a volcanic island and the sand is darker..

Barbados is another of my favorites. You can swim with the turtles and visit the shipwrecks or take a cab to Carlisle bay with its popular beach bars The boatyard been a favorite of mine with its water inflatables and clear blue waters and lively atmosphere. Alternatively take a trip to Harrison’s cave another firm favorite.

There’s lots of other ports these are just a few of the ones I’ve visited…. wheres your favorite and why? I’d love to hear about it and maybe next time my itinerary will include it
