High Tech to the High Seas….

Princess Cruises have just announced this week the launch of their latest technology. Ocean Medallion! Its Cruise Personaliser meets Concierge…

It uses cutting edge technology allowing you to interact, enhance and personalise your cruising experience. The technology has been designed by the company behind the successful Walt Disney’s MagicBand.  

It will be introduced on Regal, Royal & Caribbean Princess beginning late 2017. When Princess will exclusively Launch Ocean Medallion cruise vacations. 

What will it mean for you… well it all starts before you board. You will receive a complementary individual Ocean Medallion which can be personalised with you name, ship and sail date should you wish. It will arrive in the mail before you sail. Its around the size of 10 pence coin. It will make your embarkation process a lot more personal, as you will be able to upload your documentation before your sail allowing you to board a lot quicker not wasting any of your precious vacation time. You will be able to unlock your stateroom door without using a room key/card. Order food and drinks whenever and wherever your want them. It will also suggest relevant menu choices and activities based on your preferences added. Book your shore excursions and so much more. 

Ocean Compass works in conjunction with your Medallion and is your cruise guide, You will be able to access it on touch screens throughout the ship, on your interactive tv screen in your cabin or download on your own personal mobile device, meaning your never out of touch. With Ocean Navigate accessible though your compass you can know the whereabouts of your family and friends. Meaning your children can have that freedom and you can have peace of mind. 

With Here & Now it doesn’t matter if you forgot to pack your sunscreen or slippers your can have some delivered to your cabin, or even have the sunscreen delivered to you at the pool. You can order your favorite cocktail or martini from your cabin and have it ready and waiting at the bar or delivered to your seat in the theater what more could you ask for. 

With the technology you can get directions around the ship to meaning you’ll never get lost or not be able to find your way back to your cabin. As the sensors know your whereabouts when you pass the digital photo gallery pictures of you, your family and friends will appear. If your wish to share these on Facebook you will not be charged so why not let your family and friends at home see how much of an amazing time your having. Whilst you need to carry the Medallion whilst on-board you can control how much or how little of the experience you want to take advantage of.
