Happy New Year

I would just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a fantastic and prosperous New Year.

2017 is looking to be a great year for cruising from the UK with more cruise lines choosing to base ships here. Norwegian cruise line are offering cruises on the Norwegian Jade from Southampton and MSC have the MSC Splendida sailing from Southampton.  NCL are a ‘freestyle’ cruise with a more relaxed approach to cruising, no formal nights and the flexibility to dine when you want and MSC offer  ‘mediterranean style’ cruising, although they will tailor more to the UK market on Splendida’s sailings.

Further afield 2017 will see the launch of a number of new ships – Silversea are launching the first of 3 new luxury cruise ships, the Silver Muse in the spring. MSC have the MSC Meraviglia which will be the largest ship on the seas in terms of passenger numbers launching in May and then the MSC Seaside with a wonderful beach theme throughout launches in the autumn.

In China, the cruise market is massively expanding with more and more ships being built to cater to the Chinese market – these offer great value for money for  British passengers, just be warned though that the signage on board will be in Chinese ahead of English. The Norwegian Joy and Majestic Princess are both being purpose built for China.
