Carnival Cruise Lines have announced enhancements to their Cheers Beverage Package which I think makes it one of the best value drinks packages on the market.

When you purchase a drinks package with the majority of cruise lines your packages includes beers, wines, cocktails and spirits up to a certain value. For instance with Celebrities Classic Drinks Package you can pick any beers up to $6 in value, spirits and cocktails up to $8 and wines up to $9 per glass.

Carnival were already better value offering beers and wines, cocktails and spirits up to $10 per drink in their beverage package but this value has now been increased to a whopping $50 per glass.

They also have some lovely soft drink inclusions which are different to the normal sodas on offer including Vitamin Water, Powerade, Coconut Water and Honest Tea and include 500ml bottles of water in bars and restaurants. Speciality coffee and teas are served in the restaurants and coffee bars.

If you purchase the Cheers Beverage Package you will also benefit from 25% off the price of wine or champagne by the bottle and for those of you with expensive tastes Carnival will also give you 25% off any spirit, wine of cocktail over $50 per serving. Finally if you are looking to learn more about your drinks you can attend one of their beverage classes for a 25% reduction.

Now with all these benefits you might think that the Carnival Drinks Package would be expensive but it is actually fractionally cheaper than those offered by other American cruise lines. Carnival charge $49.95per person per day plus gratuities if you book in advance in their website and slightly more if purchased on board.
