Strictly On The River ?

Strictly coming to the Rivers? well why not it seems to be everywhere else doesn’t it these days. THE RIVER CRUISE LINE is launching a cruise this year that will be appealing to all the dancers out there and who enjoy River Cruising too. It sets sail in October of this year so all the glitz and glamour of the ballroom will be taken to Europe’s great Rivers for the Autumn programme, it will be transferred from the big Ocean going vessels to the small and less formal River Cruise Ships.

Strictly River Cruising – will be on board the companies MPS Lady Anne and will cruise along the gorgeous River Rhine  & Moselle Rivers which I enjoyed last year. Two professional dance teachers are going to be joining the crew and passengers for the 8 day sailing and will be teaching and leading organised dances. From an afternoon tea dance to an evening ballroom dance, so lots of opportunities to learn how to Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango etc with your other half or even better your best friend and with like minded people. Then when you are finished it will be time for a restful walk or a visit to the riverside towns such as Cohem, Bernkastel, Koblenz and Rudesheim.

Prices are from just £799.00 each and include full board on the ship, your coach pick-up & ferry crossing,  Due to popularity places are sure to be snapped up.

Rhine & Moselle Highlights Itinerary – Strictly

Day One: UK – Andernach
We travel to the walled town of Andernach and settle aboard our ship. You will then have time to stroll through the attractive town and along its riverside promenades.

Day Two: Andernach – Cochem
We cruise down the Rhine, passing the point where it meets the Moselle, and continue through the spectacular Moselle Valley until we reach the old town of Cochem. Here you can join our included afternoon tea dance with Alex and Margaret before enjoying an evening in this charming town.

Day Three: Cochem – Bernkastel
We travel further along the Moselle following the gentle twists and turns of the river to the wine capital, Bernkastel. You can then opt to see the highlights of this attractive town, including its famed half-timbered houses and medieval market square. Later today we enjoy an evening dance in the town with Alex and Margaret.

Day Four: Bernkastel – Traben Trarbach – Zell
Spend the day relaxing as we sail to the spa and wine centre of Traben Trarbach and the quaint wine town of Zell. Alternatively, take the opportunity to take a guided walking tour of Trier, Germany’s oldest city and former residence of Roman Emperors.

Day Five: Zell – Koblenz
We head back up towards the Rhine and stop at the walled city of Koblenz. For the best views opt to take our cable car trip, which also includes admission to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Use the evening to venture out in Koblenz and sample some wine on our optional excursion.

Day Six: Koblenz – Rüdesheim
The ship will travel through the impressive Rhine Gorge until we reach Rüdesheim. The ideal way to appreciate this beautiful region is by joining our optional excursion, which features a panoramic ride to the heights of the gorge by cable car.

Day Seven: Rüdesheim – Boppard
Next is a stopover in Boppard – the meeting place of six valleys. Take our optional excursion touring Boppard aboard the Rhine Express mini road train; followed by a chairlift ride to Vierseenblick for a bird’s eye view of the Rhine. Then spend the rest of the day exploring this waterside town.

Day Eight: Boppard – Koblenz – UK
