I Fell In Love With S.S. Antoinette Or Marie Antoinette?

I have been lucky enough to go on board the S.S.Antoinette- owned by Uniworld, and can honestly say this is the most stunning River Cruise ship I have had a privilege to see. Her décor is stunning she is more like something out of an 18th Century French Chataeu,  much like Marie Antoinette would have preferred. In addition to the gorgeous , elegant décor she is the first to have an indoor/outdoor swimming pool on a European River Ship.  She was launched in March 2011 and to say she is luxurious is the understatement of the year I think.  Black & White is very much the theme but very classical .The ships formal décor looks more like a French Chateau and the most luxurious I have ever seen on a River ship.

She offers features not on any other River Ship, The top deck Bar – called BAR DU LEPOARD, the only area not decked out in the “Black & White” theme, we loved this bar I would say similar to a bar on a large cruise ocean ship rather than a comfy slippers River ship the bar is located at the top of the  Ship, Dominated by a huge leopard statue and with modern decor . We found modern  Music was playing rather than  the usual  Piano music, much more appreciated for the younger end of the market, again a first for a River ship.

The 10 Foot Baccarat crystal and  Sapphire Chandelier in the reception took our breath away – out came the camera’s clicking non-stop such a stunning feature yet again, on talking to the reception I was informed the Chandelier once hung at the Tavern on the Green restaurant in New York City’s Central Park. Another welcome sight a 24- hour coffee station and on the same deck the brilliant well equipped fitness centre from the 21st century, not the 18th. Down the steps another welcome sight I think for guest’s is a laundry room (free to use) and the Movie Theatre LE CINEMA PIGALLE, which holds 20 people, the chairs were so comfy – you may not find it hard to nod off !!

So many stunning features too many to mention at the minute and as for the cabins well…… that’s another story &  has to be another week.
