Monte Carlo Or Bust – How The Other Half Live

I love the South of France it was one of the reasons we chose the sailing on Explorer of the seas this summer for our holidays. The port is Villefranche and the drive to Monaco took no time at all. We wanted to see the F1 Track, the Pink Palace and the famous Casino. The whole area is MONEY  MONEY MONEY –  no other way of putting it.

We walked the race track and I’m so glad we did, you can get a ride up the hill and through the tunnel, but you would  miss some of the excitement I think, all the way up to the top of the hill from the “Tunnel” all you can see is endless people taking pic’s and dodging cars as they spill out into the road.

Then it was onto the Casino the walk to it was crammed with so many tourist’s and yet again people taking endless photo’s, but not of the Track – this time it was the stunning display of cars all around the Casino area.

Our guide advised us it was ok to go into the Casino but on no account would we be allowed to take any photo’s, and sure enough as soon as we got to the entrance door we were searched and phones, cameras etc were taken off of us and placed into a dish and kept until we left the building.
