Majors Under The Microscope

Talking to some of   my clients a lot of questions come up each day such as who is better at what and who do I prefer or who have I sailed with? Its difficult really as we all want and expect different things from our holidays, so I have listed a guide which may help you a little hopefully.

Is known for all the fun, activities and casinos  are in the main geared at the younger end of the market, although having said that guest’s who join from the US are mainly under the age of 45 years.

Has the best food, the most elegant shops around and spa’s, and I find at the moment their sailings are very UNDER priced the product is 5* and on some of their sailings this coming summer the prices have been less than 3-4* cruise lines.

Have the edge on European style and lively ambiance, they have for obvious reasons had a bad time of it lately however with multi-nationality passangers. Their down side is the swimming pools always get very full and is extremly noisy during school holiday periods.

The real ocean liner that provides a regulary schedulted transatlantic service from Southampton – New York and back, while its other ships are more about regular cruising, Med or Baltics etc. Both ships carry some fine British traditions although still a bone of contention is the dining catagories.

Has all the right touches for seniors and retired clients , more for guests who have sailed with a lot of other companies and dont want Rock Climbing, the staff are known for being extremely welcoming and always having a friendly smile as commented by one client of mine recently, the ships are always decked out with an abundance of fresh flowers, traditions of the past, good cooking demonstrations and alternative grill rooms.

Tailors its onboard product to a mixture of nationalites it used to be mostly European on board but in recent years we have been promoting the company in a big way and now MSC are a huge part of our bookings each day, passangers of all ages enjoy MSC who now sail from Southampton as well as their fly cruises, they have a fine Italian flair with a high level of service and a WOW factor on many  of their ships.

An excellent operator for first time cruisers, with their FREESTYLE dining option which is very popular, a break from tradition of early or late sitting it is preferred by familes as it enables them to get on with their holdiay as they wish rather than clock watch.

Operates mainly from Southamton and most clients are British, although in recent years through the internet a lot of Australian, Americans have also now been adding them into their holdiay whilst in the UK and are throughly enjoying the product and the BRITISH FEEL. Good facilites for familes with children, having said that they now have 3 adult only ships in their fleet, ADONIA, ARCADIA AND ORIANA.

Constistant product although all of their ships are very samey in decor and facilites a little bland, the majority of the guests are in the older catagory.

Very good for the Caribbean (naturally) however we now have Independence of the sea sailing from Southampton along with Brilliance of the sea also sailing from the UK, extremelly popular now with the UK market. They also opeate fly cruisies from the UK. Good facilities Rock Climbing, Ice- Skating to name but a few.

Ive been with all of these Companies over the years so if there is anything else you would like to know just get in touch with me
