I have been watching on the BBC THE LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS I love it, evey year I watch it – “how sad I hear you say”. Not so I saw the first performance ever of a woman conductor and as Marin Alsop said in 2013 there shouldnt really be “any first’s” for women now but there you go. We had the pleasure also of seeing Nigel Kennedy (not seen him for a long time). The hall held just over 6.000 people.
No one can be unimpressed by the amount of flags swaying not only the Union Flag as we now call it, but flags from all over the world were prouldy held and waved around in the air grabbing every bit of attention possible.
It is nice too to see the ex-servicemen from 2nd world war singing and proudy displaying there medals on their chest’s & to see the pleaseant sight of young people enjoying the singing and the banter too.
Flimed in the Royal Albert hall as it alwasy is but then we had the outside broadcast from Titantic Belfast and Hyde Park. Then in the dark and lit up looking beautiful was Seven Seas Voyager- how the guest’s on board must have loved every second not only to be on board a 6* ship to enjoy but the scene that behold them in the dark.
