So You’ve Booked Directly? Oops Big Mistake!

Recently I’ve blogged about what a great idea it is to book your next cruise whilst on-board ship, enjoying yourselves and thinking about when next to cruise, there is no better feeling that having something to look forward to when you get back right?!

Right!

Which is why I always encourage my customers to book something on ship, and nominate me to handle the booking for them. The cruise lines are more than happy to do this, as they just get you booked and that’s it, they don’t have to hear or see you again until you are back on, easy money for them. Also easy for us, and better financially for you- the cruiser!

In the last couple of days I have had one or two conversations with people making enquiries that has prompted this blog. They have been perhaps recommended to me personally or just called up randomly from the website. The customers have asked me for a quote and then said to me “Well how come your price is cheaper than booking directly with the cruise line?” I then explain that we actually earn a commission on each cruise, giving us the ability to discount their price.

Sadly, sometimes it turns out they have already booked directly and are annoyed that our price as the agent is better than what they have. The customer was under the impression that booking with me-the agent would cost more, assuming that we added a finders fee. I think I will have a customer for life once he books next time!

So if you have booked already directly, bear in mind you can book with me next time and I will be cheaper!

What’s more is that you get much more personal service from me. I’m no clucking chicken on the phone! As a Specialist its my job to tell you what is right and wrong, and trust me, you as the customer are not always right. What you think you know isn’t always the case, as pointed out above.

So the moral of the story, is DO NOT BOOK DIRECT! I can save you time & money, and guess what – it’s free to ring me!!
