IONA IS HERE!

So today is the day for P&O as they launch their latest and possibly greatest ship of all time? The ‘Iona’!

It’s fair to say there has been a lot of buzz around this project for some time, so it’ll be interesting to see how she measures up come 2020.

I must admit that I haven’t had a gigantic amount of interest from previous P&O members. Most of them still reeling in disappointment over the sales of Adonia and soon Oriana, two much loved ships.

Majority of interest I have had is from new to the brand, excited about the prospect of a British style ‘all singing all dancing’ ship that can perhaps rival the likes the Royal Caribbean as a floating resort.

This will no doubts please P&O because attracting new customers from rival brands is exactly what they want of course, and I must say that the introductory pricing from P&O is highly competitive off the bat.

I’ll probably take a look at Iona myself in the near future because now having my own family, a ship like this with plenty to do is very much where my sights are set.

I like the smaller ship too don’t get me wrong. Perhaps my best experience since starting in the industry donkeys years ago, was actually when I cruised the river Danube in 2015, an experience I thought I’d dislike, but in fact it was quite the opposite.

But with a baby, who frighteningly by summer 2020 will be 3 years old (OMG), I think a ship that can cater for him is paramount to me. Keeping the kids entertained is a battle at best I’m sure most parents will agree!

I wish P&O the best of luck this week and I will be trying my hardest for you to get folks booked aboard Iona in an effort to support Britain’s favourite brand.

I still think you should have called her ‘Shippy McShipface’ though let it be known!

All other ships for 2020 will start to go on sale at various times next week in addition to Iona this week, but feel free to drop me a line now, I have guide prices and can help you pre register to get booked when the program is released.

Thanks for reading and as always , until next time ….
