Cruising’s Most Important Luggage Item Revealed!

So a question I often get from my customers is regarding what to pack on their cruise.

This question generally comes from first time cruisers that are delving into the unknown, and to be honest I accept that with all the different brands out there, each with different ideas about dress codes, it can be a minefield on that to take.

However……..

Ladies and Gents, I have come to the conclusion that clothes are not the priority item nowadays! Oh no!

Now although I’m not suggesting you travel naked or without your smalls – although lets be honest that’s the dream. (Clothing of course is more of a social invention rather than the necessity of keeping us warm nowadays – but that’s another blog for another day!)

No, I have decided that the item I am now recommending first and foremost having had several disappointing conversations, are the humble…………….wait for it…………….drum roll please…………………..

Ear Plugs!

Yes these little foam beauties are one of the lowest tech, most cost effective pieces of kit that one should never be without on holiday!

Not because your other half snores like a racehorse, no, because simply, on a cruise, there are noises that can sometimes affect your sleep.

The gentle hum of the engines. Docking in the morning. The ships horn. The ships PA system. Nearby cabin doors. Staff access stairs. The list goes on an on.

These are unfortunately par for the course when it comes to cruising and cannot be avoided. So if like me, a mouse fart wakes you up in the night, then ear plugs are utterly essential. Get these in your wash bag and give yourself the best night sleep possible.

Think about your shoes and clothes afterwards!

A lot of folks will say they feel unnatural, and quite honestly they do, but once you get used to them they are amazing, so do yourself a favour about a month before the cruise, get yourself used to wearing them so that you are prepped and ready for the cruise, trust me you’ll not regret it.
