How Do You Like Your Agents In The Morning?

Technology eh…..a necessity for some….a pain in the neck for others.

However you view the ever evolving world, one thing is for sure, people will always have a preference to how they do things.

Which brings me to the topic of my blog today…. my job!

This last few weeks have been incredibly busy, which is exactly what I want of course. It’s surprised me to be honest after the weather has been so nice, the World Cup being on, Wimbledon, various Grand Prix’s etc etc

But a combination of great offers and some heavy marketing by us at Cruise.co.uk, have brought in customers new and old alike, and I’ve been really pleased to get so many of you on cruises to all corners of the world.

Now, I’ve contacted people over the phone and via our web offers, not to mention social media platforms, and also had a bit of word of mouth – my favourite of course!

It’s got me thinking, what is a potential customer more like to prefer when booking a cruise, and why?

Personally, loving the sound of my own voice, and being very confident in the product I have proudly sold for nigh on 14 years, I prefer dealing with my client by phone, and, once the business is done, the odd email back and forth is a nice way to keep in touch and answer questions a little more visually.

I like to think that my regular customers will tell you that I’m a professional but friendly guy who knows a little bit about a lot of things, and is always happy to help them.

But alas, talking on the phone isn’t for everyone, at least not initially. I see a lot of people sending in enquiry requests with an ’email only’ response, and I was interested to know why?

Surely it’s easier to call up, have a 5 minute chat and get your quote than it is to send an email?

Maybe it’s that you just want the info in print? But you would get that from us in quote form anyway!

Are we just all getting less sociable?

Online booking is almost upon us and I can’t help thinking, is this really the way we want to be going? Not talking?

Everything is online these days! We do our shopping online. We by our food online. We do our banking online. We even get into relationships online!

The world I grew up in wasn’t this antisocial and I don’t think it’s healthy. Especially when booking a cruise. You need someone to get all the questions answered, put your mind at rest, and ultimately you want to know you are booking with a person that you can trust, not a computer without a personality who sees you as a number and not a name!
